Jun 20,  · The album does occasionally approach Quiet Riot’s old style on songs like “Down and Dirty” and “Rise or Fall,” but even then, the synth really overpowers the raw energy of the tracks. If we’re being honest, Quiet Riot was probably headed for obscurity before QR III was released, but this album certainly drove the nail in the coffin.

QR is the sixth studio album released on October 21, by the American heavy metal band Quiet Riot. The album featured a major line-up change. Singer and founding member Kevin Dubrow had been fired before the recording sessions began, and replaced by Rough Cutt vocalist Paul Shortino/5(36).

Quiet Riot's third release showed the band sticking fairly close to its strengths (melodic hard rock custom made to be blasted at parties). Bassist Rudy Sarzo was replaced by Chuck Wright (both Sarzo and Wright had been members at different times prior), as the group set out to regain the fans they lost due to singer Kevin DuBrow's press-happy motor mouth. A heavier emphasis on keyboards.
